Max goes to the Park. pt.3 A Party in the park.

Max found himself going back and forth on the swing next to Mr.Ghost. He couldn’t help but wonder how he’d gotten himself into such a peculiar situation. Sitting in the park in the middle of the night with some stranger. If it wasn’t for the fact that Meme was enjoying herself so much, barking like crazy whilst chasing after her little tail, Max would have long ago hurried home.

“How old are you Max?” asked Mr. Ghost.

“Huh..ummm…”

“It’s not like I’m asking you a hard question, am I?”

“No it’s just asking someones age is a bit rude, right?”

“What? How?!… You are some weird kid, it’s not like I asked you what size your d*** is. Are you a girl? You’re not old? How on earth is asking your age rude?!” Mr.Ghost had an exasperated expression on his face and stared at Max as if he were crazy.

“I’m not a girl! I just…my Mum told me that it’s rude to ask someones age on a first meeting.”

“You’re not that bright are you Max?”

“Hey-”

“I’m just saying,” interrupted Mr.Ghost, “your Mum probably meant that it’s rude on a first meeting with a woman, and most likely a woman you want to date. Woman are sensitive about their age, more so than men. So for a good first impression not asking their age is better.”

“…” Max didn’t know how to respond.

“Max are you a woman?” asked Mr. Ghost.

“Nooo.” Max slowly said.

“Max do I look like I want to date you?”

“…” Max just blinked, not knowing how to respond.

“Since the answer to both is no, I think you can tell me your goddamn age.”

“…”

“Max how old are you?”

“17.”

“Well done.” Mr.Ghost purred, he reached his hand out and slowly patted Max on the head, stroking his hair like Max was his pet. “Well since you’re 17 that means your old enough to come to a fun little gathering with me.”

“A gathering! A party?” Max was surprised but also disinterested, he’d been invited to some but never went since he was naturally an introvert. The idea of a party seemed pointless to him.

“Yes a party.” said Mr Ghost, he jumped off the swing, his purple dyed hair rippling in the wind, his piercings jingling. He grabbed Max’s hands into his, “We’re going to a party right now.”

“Right now!”

“Yep.” Mr Ghost grinned at him and then pulled Max towards the forest area of the park where there were a multitude of trees and the white light of the lamps couldn’t reach.

Max felt startled and terrified. “You know what, actually Ghost, I’d rather not y-y-you know, I gotta take care of Meme and stuff and I guess it’s getting late.”

“Meme will be fine, and the night is still young.” Mr.Ghost placidly replied.

Max didn’t have time to respond as by this point they had already entered the forest. To his surprise as they walked in rather than darkness greeting them there was actually a red light that shined bright, illuminating the forest.

With every step closer Max heard the thrumming of instruments. As they walked closer to the source of this red light, Max  realised it was a huge fire, he saw smaller white lights dancing around the fire, then around these white lights there were people-like figures all dancing and singing around the fire.

As Max got even closer he saw that these white lights were actually very small people with wings. Fairies!!! “No way” Max whispered out loud. His surprise caused Mr.Ghost to smile.

“There aren’t just fairies. If you look closely there are Trolls, Dwarves, and Elves.” Mr.Ghost muttered lightly into Max’s ears. “You are the only living human to ever witness such a grand party Max, you should be excited.”

“I am.” Max breathed, his eyes filled with wonder his heart beating like crazy. “Wait aren’t you human too Mr.Ghost!?”

“I am.”

“Then-”

“But I’m not a living human Max.”

A Fairy Tale Prince- Chapter 13

“What’s your decision?” Aaron asked, the tip of his sword scraping against my neck. It was sharp. I felt a trickle of blood travel down onto my collarbone.

“If I say no what will you do to me?” I asked, perhaps I was feeling brave.

“Whoa, he has spirit.” praised Abimbola.

“Don’t praise him.” snapped Aaron, “Don’t encourage his stupidity! If you want to survive it is better to work together, if you are against us then you are already standing in your grave. In fact if you say no… I will kill you now.” There was a cold confidence in those blue eyes that made me know he wasn’t joking.

His threat was real, I could tell. It was better for my survival to agree. So I smiled and said, “Well then I guess you have yourselves a new ally.”

They all stared at me blankly. Riku’s eyes particularly wide as he exclaimed, “He’s weird, we’ve got a weird one!”

“You should at least resist more.” Said Enzo.

“He agreed too easily.” said Louis.

“Don’t be so impressed by him,” stated Aaron, “We gave him a choice and he picked the logical option.”

Even though he said that Aaron seemed flustered as well. He put his sword away expertly but he seemed puzzled. Perhaps he expected me to be more panicked, confused or resistant.  I was glad that I went against his expectations.

To be honest I surprised myself, I didn’t know why I was so calm in this situation. In an unknown place surrounded by hostile people. One of them even put a sword to my neck. Maybe I was calm because of the shock. Or perhaps because deep down inside of me I was excited. This was the first step in my own adventure, my first time out of the cage that I had lived in. Even if I was in some weird prison, forced into some weird death game it didn’t matter much to me at that moment. Now that I think back on it I guess I was, still am, a weird guy.

“You seem confident, do you already know the situation you’re in?” Aaron asked, his expression still puzzled.

“No. Of course not.” I answered “Why would I ask you to explain things if I knew already.”

“He’s weird, he’s definitely weird.” muttered Riku. Wang seemed to nod in agreement with him.

“Well then.” said Aaron. “We should explain things to you. First things first you should know that you have been bought, your life is no longer your own but belongs to your sponsor.—”

“Bought….but how can they buy people? That shouldn’t be allowed—”

“Don’t interrupt me!” Aaron spat, ” I was getting to that!” He composed himself. “Sometimes the sponsors go to your Parents or guardians, my father was the one that sold me and the same goes for Abimbola and the twins, people sold them for money. Other times if the sponsor can’t buy you through normal means they hire criminals from black market gangs or societies to kidnap the kids that have caught their eye. Either way as far as your Sponsor is concerned they own you.”

“So were you sold or kidnapped?” asked Riku.

“Kidnapped.” I say slowly, but I was confused, I wondered who my sponsor could be. I had never been allowed out of my house. The only people that knew about my existence were my Mother and the staff. Who could have wanted to buy me? Who was the sponsor? Maybe it was Lisa or Jamie, however if they had that much money there is no way they would have been mere servants and they had countless chances to kidnap me over the years. So who could it be?

“So your like myself and Wang—”

“Anyway!” interrupted Aaron, ” You’ll never get to meet your sponsor. But they will contact you using letters that will be shoved under your door or at other times,” he pointed at a telephone in the corner of the room. “They will personally call you. They’ll give you little tasks, or games to complete, sometimes they’ll make you compete against other Princes or Princesses’ in other sections. If you lose a match or do not complete a task you will get penalised. Your sponsor chooses your penalty. If you get penalised too much your sponsor will deem you useless and then…well I don’t know what happens to those that disappear, but it’s definitely nothing good.” Aaron said this all very flippantly like he wasn’t talking about something he was directly involved in. It was like he was numb to all of it.

“It’s better for the people in specific sections to get along.” Aaron continued, “Because it’s easier to complete certain tasks together and sometimes they put us against the other teams in different sections.” Aaron paused and glanced at me, “You’re taking this very well.”

“Should I be taking it badly?”

He just blinked at me and sighed. “You’re definitely weird.” Then he smiled “but the weirdo’s normally survive so I guess you won’t be a useless new edition. But you should understand that in this team I am the leader. I have been here the longest, so you need to follow me.”

“But what if you get an order from your sponsor to kill me. Then should I still look up to you and follow you?”

There was silence.

“You’re smart, I guess you’ll survive here for a long time.” I noted that he didn’t answer my question and instead he left the room.

After him they all left one by one, except for  Riku who leaned to my ear and whispered. “Don’t trust Aaron, the previous section 1 was all wiped out by him. His sponsor has a tendency to order him to kill.” He winked at me and then left as well.

With the room empty and silent all I could do was sigh and lie back on my pillow. This was going to be interesting, I thought.

Chapter 11- Leadership

Mex Cillian

“A leader! Me!”

“Yes you!”

I couldn’t help but sigh “that’s way too much pressure. Being a leader sounds like so much effort.”

Cal burst out laughing, “You took that well. I thought you’d be panicked or something. Only you would react this way to being told you’re the leader of an entire species”

“Sorry for being weird.” I retorted, “but you only said I was one of your great leaders, right? That means there are others that share my responsibility right, so I shouldn’t be that worried. And I think I’m pretty awesome, memories or not I’m certain I would be an awesome leader.”

Cal who was still chuckling to himself commented, “That’s some strange confidence you have, but I guess you’ve always been like that. I don’t know why I thought you would change.” He grabbed my cheeks and ruffled my hair, “Same face, same hair, same strange personality. Yep you’re the same Mex I know.”

As he spoke his face was uncomfortably close to mine and I felt my cheeks go red and my hear race. I coughed, “What about you, aren’t you a leader too?”

“Me!” he exclaimed pointing at himself, “Man, no way. I’m not powerful enough or old enough for that.

“How old are you?”

“That’s a really rude question you know.”

“Was it—”

“It was.”

“Only old farts say that.”

“Well I guess i’m an old fart then, but you’re an even older old fart you know.”

“Damn, then I’m basically a shrivelled up old corpse.”

“What on earth are we even talking about?”

“Your age.”

“I know that but… we veered off course, we were supposed to be helping you understand our situation.”

“So help me understand then.”

“It’s impossible to talk to you seriously.”

“Well sorry!”

Our weird banter continued for a while until I heard the howl of something in the distance and I felt my skin crawl and I inched a bit closer to Cal.

“What was that?”

“A mutant.”

“What are those?”

“You could call them evolved humans. The products of human destruction.”

In the moonlight Cal’s illuminated face beheld a melancholic expression. “The war started the war because we couldn’t negotiate with humanity. We wanted to reclaim our lands and then turn Earth back into its former paradise and heal the human race. But they misunderstood and resisted. They saw us as monsters but we were nothing of the sort. Many of our species went insane with anger because of this, decided humanity was beyond redemption and went on witch hunt to wipe them all out.

Of course humans have always been quick to adapt, and before we knew it we were the ones being hunted. All the negotiations and peace you were trying to build before crumbled and we became the enemy.”

He held my hand and squeezed, “Mex as an immortal, one of the oldest beings living on this Earth, you have the power to destroy humanity entirely. When I was more foolish I begged you to do this, to use the power you were gifted with to kill them all. However you told me that ‘you can not stop destruction with destruction’ and as the war went on and our side suffered along with theirs, I realised more how right your word were–”

“But if I’m a Leader, and this power why can’t I stop the war?”

“Because you are very peace loving, Mex. The rest of our species decided that they would fight an all out war with humanity. You did not. So together with other allies we disappeared. We are neutral.”

“So I am no longer a leader—”

“You are! You’re my leader, and their leader as well, if they stopped being so foolish. If they only understood.” He began crying. “It’s so frustrating.” He wept, his warm tears falling on my fingers and disappearing with a spark. I pulled him closer to me and hugged him. Rubbing his back slowly.

“Are we trying to stop the war.”

“Yes… Peacefully…”

“What are our aims?”

“To convince our race to stop fighting…to negotiate with the humans.”

“Why did I lose my memory?”

Cal’s tears stopped and his back caught alight with blue flames, they didn’t burn me but they felt hot, and angry. “You confronted one of the leaders… One of your old friends. It allowed us to halt this war momentarily…but the cost.”

“Breathe…explain this slowly.”

Tia Kyoya

I walked back to the operations chamber only to see the technical crew and the builders at work, but no Timothy.

I walked up to Matt Spithy, one of the best techies around, and also Timothy’s best mate. “Hey” I greeted him “Have you seen that brat around.”

“You mean Tim?” said Matt who was feverishly writing something on a tablet. “I asked him to flick a switch for me five hours ago. He did it and he never came back.”

“Five hours ago. What’s the time?”

“It’s 22:41, that’s weird Major Kyoya you’re usually pretty organised.”

“Oh I just didn’t check is all.” I replied quickly but was quietly shocked. I hadn’t realised I had been gone for five hours whilst talking to Ashley. I felt disturbed.

“Well if you see him again tell him I’m looking for him.”

Matt yawned,”yeah I will.”

I walked off and towards the living quarters of the facility. Jogging soldiers went past and saluted. I nodded in return. As I turned towards a corridor to my own living area I saw a grim faced Timothy leaning against the door to my room.

His eyes shifted towards me.

“Tia, we need to talk.”

Chapter 11, yaay. Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been busy. Will post more frequently starting next week.

A Fairy Tale Prince- Chapter 12

I woke up on a comfortable canopy bed, the sheets were made out of linen and silk, the pillows felt soft like they had duck feathers inside them. It reminded me of my luxurious bed back at home. However, I was immediately made uncomfortable by the people standing around the bed staring at me.

There were six boys, all of different heights and ethnic backgrounds, however one thing they did have in common was that they were all stunningly handsome and wore old fashioned clothing. Or rather than old fashioned it was more traditional. One boy who seemed to have Asian heritage was dressed in a Haori, another boy who also seemed of Asian descent was wearing a Zhidou. Another boy of African descent was wearing a purple and lavender coloured Dashiki. Two other boys that seemed to originate from Europe somewhere wore three-part costumes; with breeches, waist coat, and coat that were all made of elaborately embroidered fabrics that were decorated with some jewels. The last boy wore a long red and purple coat that was embroidered with gold thread, he wore black boots, he had a linen shirt and woollen tunic underneath his coat was a decorated broad sword in a sheath hanging off the belt at his side. Yes, they were all wearing very traditional clothing.

The two boys in the three part costume had the same face, as in they looked exactly identical. I couldn’t help feeling surprised because it was my first time meeting twins. They both had very handsome faces with strong jawlines, pretty brown eyes, freckled skin and curly brown hair. They were the first to notice I’d woken up and they said in unison, “He’s awake!”

Then the boy in the long red and purple coat, who had long flowing blonde hair, like gold, and stunning pair of sky blue eyes said, “So this is the new Prince, huh. What’s your name?”

I froze

“What, has a cat got your tongue!? I asked for you Goddamn name!” It seemed like he had a seriously short temper.

“Andromeda!” I shrieked, “Andromeda Star!”

“pssttt!!” The blonde boy snorted, “What kind of name is that? haha, you were named after a freaking Galaxy.” He laughed loudly, and all the other boys around him also laughed with him. “That is hilarious!!!”

I was beginning to get angry because nobody had ever laughed at my name before. However, I didn’t yell at them. I let them laugh. I was wary of them and cautious. I didn’t know where I was, but if I could trust that bastard Ray’s words, then I was in some scary death match. I shouldn’t trust anyone. I should be wary of everyone.

I looked around the room and it seemed like a normal, albeit luxurious bedroom. However one notable factor was that there were no windows and only one steel door, which looked really out of place when you stared at the rest of the wooden/oak themed room. This was a prison.

“Wow, are you not even going to say anything as we laugh at you, how lame” said the blonde boy.

I ignored the urge to punch that boy in the face and instead said, “So aren’t you going to tell me your names. It’s only polite.”

The blonde boys face dropped as if I had poured cold water on him. It made me happy that I had annoyed him. The boy ‘tsked’ then stated, “I am Aaron Eagleton, known around here as the Canary Prince.”

I was surprised because he called himself a Prince but just as I was about to comment on it the two twin boys spoke up. The one to my left whom had a blue handkerchief coming out of the pocket of his waistcoat boasted, “I am the fabulous Enzo Bernard, known as the North Prince–”

“I am Louis Bernard, the adored South Prince.” interrupted his twin brother, whom was only distinguishable by the red handkerchief he had coming out of his waistcoat. Enzo didn’t seem too happy to have been interrupted and glared at his brother. Louis wiggled his eyebrows at Enzo, like he was saying ‘I dare you’, just as it seemed like they were going to break into a fight the tall handsome African boy separated them and calmly said, “If you two start another fight I hope you can deal with the consequences.” At his words the pair went pale and nodded in submission.

“I am Abimbola Azikiwe, the Proxy Prince.” he stated.

As he finished the boy wearing the Haori, whom had long flowing black hair, gorgeously big black eyes and a ghostly pale face said “I am Riku Fukushima, I am known as the Wise Prince and this” he gestured to the last boy who wore the Zhidou and had his hair tied up in a scholarly manner, “is Wang Wei, the Lotus Prince. He is a man of few words.” Wang simply nodded at me.

“And” announced Aaron, “We are the Princes of  Section 1, your new family, Andromeda.”

I stared at them blankly. Family. What was going on I thought. I exhaled and collected my bearings. “Well, it’s truly a pleasure to meet all of you. I’ll do my best to remember all your names. But, rather than exchanging pleasantries shouldn’t you all tell me what’s going on.”

“I think I like him.” proclaimed Riku, “he’s straightforward and to the point.”

“Be quiet.” snapped Aaron. Riku glared at him but didn’t retort. “I’ll explain to you what is going on. I will tell you about the hell that you have entered.” Aaron stated. “However, that is only if you swear loyalty to our group.” he said. “Are you with us, or are you against us?” As he spoke he withdrew the long broad sword he had hanging off of his belt, and pointed it at me. On the tip of the sword there was some dried blood and I felt the room go cold and my heart beat race. ‘ba-dump, ba-dump, ba-dump.”

And here is the long awaited and overdue chapter 12 for ‘A Fairy Tale Prince” I am sorry that this took so long to come out. It’s because I’ve been adapting the story and re-writing parts of it. Also I’m entering the Dragonfly Tea Short story competition. So I’ve been focusing on finishing my entry for it. I am still focusing on that entry so it may be a while until you see continuous daily chapters for this webnovel. I will try to make it three chapters a week.

Thank you so much for reading and Stay tuned!!!

Chapter 10- Human Nature

Mex Cillian

As I opened my eyes I could see that the sun was no longer up and the burgundy moon hung in the black sky like a devils eye. Dust swept around us, only when it settled did I notice the derelict building in front of us; it was a grey old complex that looked like it would topple over at the winds slightest touch and break into millions of tiny pieces.  Half of it was sunk into the ground and the other half looked like it was clinging to life. It was pitiful.

“What is this place?” I asked Cal, who was stretching, panting heavily, his breath crystalising into ice.

“Geesh, that took a lot out of me.” Cal moaned, looking up at me, “This is our temporary shelter, it isn’t some swanky hotel, but compared to some other places I’ve seen, this is a paradise. We need to lie low while we’re still in Human territory.” Cal reassured as he saw the wary look I was giving the building. “We’re only staying the night until the sun comes up; some scary things come out when it’s dark so it’s better not to travel right now, trust me.”

“What kind of scary things?”

“Believe me, you don’t need to know. Now that you don’t have your memories it’s better that you learn these stuff gradually. Some things are just too disturbing for words.”

I nodded and began heading towards the entrance or what I thought was an entrance but in reality just some gaping hole in the side. Cal jumped to his feet and jogged to catch up.

“You know.” Cal said. “This place used to be a shopping centre, not only here; all of this wasteland used to be one gigantic city district with massive buildings and houses everywhere. It used to be the place to go… People used have a lot of fun here.” He muttered the last part under his breath, so I only just heard it. “But then of course that isn’t the case anymore.” He grumbled angrily, kicking the dirt. “About 100 years ago this place became a nuclear war zone, I think it was some dispute between countries, I don’t really care. All I remember is seeing crowds of people and the next everyone was gone. We only just made it out of there.” Cal kicked a big rock, that was twice the size of his head- may I add- and sent it flying. “And do you know what really makes me mad?!” Cal continued I nodded although I think it had been a rhetorical question. “Is that that stupid government, that dumb police, The Capital and their stupid hound dogs, think they have the right to blame us for all the things that they’ve done. They blame us for all their wars, their casualties, their dumbass mistakes. And they think that by killing creatures like us the world will become some happy place. Sometimes people are just so stupid.”

He fumed for a second, and went silent, but what he had said raised my curiosity. First off 100 years ago, I knew I was probably older than I looked and I had lived for a long time but seriously. I had so many questions I wanted to ask Cal.

We made it into the ‘building’ which was no better than the outer appearance, but it was definitely more comfortable than outside at least, well anything was more comfortable than outside. Cal settled on the ground, leaning against a brick wall that was chipped and looked ready to collapse, but Cal didn’t care. I did the same. Plopping down right next to Cal. I opened my mouth to ask him the questions that we all probably wanted to know yet he spoke before I could.

“There are probably a lot of things you want to know right.” Cal started, his sharp blue eyes staring at me with some scary intensity. “Well I’ll tell you, but it’s kind of a long story. So just be prepared to stay up all night.” He paused, and I shuffled into a more comfortable position whilst he rummaged in his jacket that was hanging around his waist and tossed me a large bottle of water. Where had he been keeping it? His jacket must have been bigger than I originally thought.

As I drank, Cal began talking again,“You’ve probably figured out that I’m not human and that the same goes for you, right?”

“Yeah.”

“Let me begin telling you that there are two sides.”

“Two sides.”

“Yh. The Humans and Us.” He sipped some water, “We are nicknamed by the Humans as Creatures of the Abyss. That’s because they claim we came out of nowhere, that we are the origin of all evil…Of course we aren’t though, that’s just Human propaganda bullshit. Keeps all the other humans under control, makes them think they have a common enemy. That’s why Humans are dangerous and incredibly hostile to our kind. Even their police force will butcher us on contact. If I hadn’t come in time their police would have definitely made you suffer.”

“They were the police force?” I was surprised, for some reason when I thought of police I envisioned hard working earnest people fighting for justice and they definitely didn’t look like it. Cal just nodded sadly.

“Yeah, it makes me so depressed about what society is like these days.” Cal sighed, “Don’t ask any questions anymore Mex, I told you this is going to take all night so wait until after.” I gave him an apologetic look and Cal coughed and then said, “Our kind has been around a lot longer than humans have. Humans egotistically believe they own the world because they have the superiority in numbers and in the past they built tall buildings and advanced states. Due to a treaty made long ago, called the Yggdraisal treaty, many of our kind decided not to meddle in Human affairs. We lived peacefully with them in coexistence. However humanity is a destructive race by nature, that are selfish and sceptical. Each civilisation they built, each empire would eventually crumble and fall given enough time. Our race used to stand by and watch as they caused their own senseless destruction, however that all changed when they began destroying the Earth along with them.” I was entranced by Cal’s words and leaned forward as I listened attentively. “They made weapons of mass destruction, they made biological weapons that spread diseases and famine, they polluted the water and the air, they destroyed the world that we shared together.” Cal’s eyes seemed to reflect the horrors of war and his purple and blue flames began to spark around him. I wondered what tragedies he had seen. “Because of this many of our own kind struggled to survive. Spirits and nymphs of nature that belonged to the forests or the rivers, our friends died one by one.” As he spoke I felt growing emotions of anger, frustration and sadness.

“Our species were always kind to the humans and never gave them trouble, allowed them to reign over this Earth, and that was how they repaid our kindness. That’s why the leaders of our race decided that we must go to war and put the humans in their place. 11.03.2389 was the day the war began.”

He grabbed my hand, “Mex, you are one of our great leaders.”

Timothy

“What is this?” I asked as I felt the floor shaking with some strange vibrations.

Fallen winked at me, “Oh that is the fun job I have for you.” she turned from me and began walking away, “Aren’t you coming Timothy.”

“Ah! Yes!” I yelped and followed her like the dog I was.

Half an hour passed.

Fallen and I had been walking through endless corridors and I was beginning to feel wary of. I honestly didn’t care what kind of job Fallen wanted me to do, I trusted one of the greatest warriors of my era, but for some reason I was feeling unnerved.

I didn’t like it; I didn’t like the vibrations I was feeling under my toes. Harmonious waves. I could hear each buzz in my ear as if little fairies were singing in it. Damn fairies, just thinking of those Abyss pests made my fingers twitch, wishing I had my gun at hand. What was this?

“What is this?” I finally aired my thoughts.

“This is a state secret.” Her sexy voice was filled with seriousness, “Imagine this.” She said, “What if you could change time, or become invincible or open a pocket dimension and hide all your deepest darkest secrets inside.”

“I don’t understand.” I breathed, she patted my back.

“Bear with me.” She said “This is the weapon we have been developing, one that can give us an advantage over the Abyss.”

“An advantage…What do you mean?”

Fallen smiled viciously. “What if we could mimic their abilities, those of the abyss.” Her eyes glimmered with fanaticism, “Yet more than mimic them, we could rewrite history itself and eradicate the Abyss entirely.”

“How would that be possible…unless…the experiments the labs said failed…succeeded.”

She smiled at me, “You’re one intelligent boy Timothy” I couldn’t tell whether she was mocking me or not, “Yes what if we re-wrote this world. There are many versions of earth, different dimensions with people that share the same souls as us but have lived out entirely different lives. We have been developing a method to access these worlds using knowledge we have gathered from Abyss creatures. With this we could reset the Earth, take away all the problems. We could go outside without masks or heavy gear.”

She reached out her arms like she was seeing this dream in front of her.“When the scale broke a few hundred years ago, the monsters came and attacked us. Now we will bite back, we will avenge our fallen comrades.”

“You sound just like Tia.”

“You mean Major Tia Kyoya.” she laughed, “Oh we most definitely share the same ideals. However the one I need right now is you, Timothy.”

As she said that we walked into a bright cavern and I saw the most bewitching sight. There were blue, pink, and green lights that danced and swayed, they burned like fire and yet weren’t hot or cold. It was vibrant, constantly changing colours. And at the Centre of these things was a rock of ice; it was transparent and inside of it I could see a man. No an abyss creature, his hair white his skin deathly pale. For some reason it reminded of the Abyss creature that escaped from our base earlier, I think its name was Mex. Yet unlike Mex it’s white hair was so long it wrapped around it body, and it had strange rainbow coloured markings on its body. It was naked, in the fetal position and frozen in the ice. It was the source of the vibrations.

Fallen gazed at it, she stared at it with disgust. She despised it.

“It is called Sync. It was the first creature of the Abyss humanity ever came into contact with. It is one of the three immortals that we know of.”

“Immortal!?”

“I’ll explain it later. But he is the creature that has all the answers to defeating the abyss, and you are going to help me find these answers.”

“Me! But..But how?”

“You will link with it.”

“Link?!”

Chapter 10!!! yayy 🙂 Dear Readers do tell me what you think of the story so far. And also which side are you on. Humanity or the Abyss?

Some pretty Art & Beneath Black Blood- Chapter 9

When I was 14 and I started writing Beneath Black Blood I had my best friend draw some character designs for me because I was set on making it a Comic or Manga one day.

The one with blue hair is Cal Hyder, the one with red hair (inspired by MCR’s Gerard Way) is Ashley Barnett, and the one on the bottom left is Mex Cillian. In my imagination the design had a kind of Devil May Cry vibe going for it. I think now I would do the designs a bit differently but don’t you think my friends art is awesome.

Chapter 9- Innocent love

I told you once; I told you twice; I told you once again. You said you could; you said you would not do the thing again. I tell you no; I tell you, go! Don’t let it be in vain!

Mex Cillian

Cal and I had only been travelling together for a couple of hours, but I could already tell what kind of guy he was, or maybe it was my suppressed memories telling me what I already knew. Either way, during the course of our journey I came to realise that he wasn’t as kind as he seemed. Sure he was a vibrant lively character, which seemed to just enjoy being there, yet he was calculating and cautious at the same time. Always wary of his surroundings. There was something icy underneath, like hard steel, a black cloth wrapped around his heart. Cal was like a sheathed sword, I was scared and aroused by him. I felt a latent curiosity for him in general. I wanted to investigate Cal as a person, even if I had known everything about him before, it was a different story now. I wanted, and he was the answer.

I smiled to myself and Cal raised his eyebrows inquisitively, something glimmered behind his pretty blue eyes, and it made my smile bigger. I was enjoying myself more than I could express. I wonder why?

“You should stop what you’re thinking right now!” Cal called to me,

“What do you mean by that?” I asked, but Cal just made a mysterious knowing smile, and I rolled my eyes at him, making him giggle. As soon as he turned his eyes away from me, I was boring holes in the back of his. I knew he could tell exactly what I was thinking. He was analysing every little detail. Sometimes he was generally pleased by seeing me, but other times those eyes were like ice.

“You should watch your step, what we’re walking on is really an abandoned town covered in sand, the ground can collapse at any second .” Cal called, he was already way ahead of me, at least 10 metres, and I’d been so caught up in my thoughts I forgot to pay attention to where I was going.  I stepped forward; confused by what he said, and suddenly the floor gave way.

It cracked beneath me, before I knew it I was falling into an empty black abyss. My stomach lurched. I instinctively reached out and flung my body towards the surface of the hole but I was only able to grab the crumbling edge. I couldn’t see but it strangely felt like I was holding on to glass, glass that was cutting deep into my fingers. I cried out, as I felt the glass like material go so deep that it nearly sawed my hand to the bone. I held on regardless, I had experienced more pain than this.

Even so, that didn’t matter to my body how much pain I had suffered before, my hands were turning numb, my senses dying, my grip failing me. I knew I only had seconds, so I began attempting to pull myself up, but the platform I was holding on to crumbled and I was thrown into the darkness of the hole. I began to despair, but then a hand was holding me around the waist, and in barely any time I was on the ground above. I breathed heavily; relieved to feel the rocky hard ground beneath me, glad to feel that scathing sunlight on my pale skin. I lay there crumpled, trying to catch my breath. Cal was attentively pulling tiny pieces of glass from my bleeding hands.

“Thank you.” I whispered, Cal looked up at me, his blue eyes were tearful.

“Don’t thank me.” He said, “I’m no good at all, I’m useless Mex, if I had been quicker than you wouldn’t have hurt your hands. What kind of friend am I?  It’s just like…like last time.”

Bright, big tears fell from his eyes, and his hands shook as he pulled the glass from mine. I looked at him. We must be good friends I thought. I wasn’t sure what ‘last time’ referred to but I knew he was sad because of me. He wasn’t my enemy, any prior suspicion I had of him faded away. I pulled my hand from his and lifted it to his face, so that he could watch it miraculously heal like all the rest of my wounds somehow did.

“That was nothing Cal, the only time you should be crying is if I die.” I smiled. “And that isn’t going to happen any day soon.” He grinned at me and we both ended up laughing, laughing at ourselves, laughing at each other.

“Oh Mex.” Cal chuckled, wiping the tears from his face. “You never change you’re still the same old Mex that I know.”

“Well I wouldn’t know about that. I wonder what I was like before.” I said, standing up, looking up at the sinking red sun on the horizon. “I think we should get out of here, the sun’s going down, and if being here in the sunlight is giving me the creeps then I’m terrified of what this place will be like in the dark.”

Cal nodded, in agreement and stood up. For a weird moment we just looked at each other, then before I knew it Cal had grabbed my hand and we were flying. Purple flames surrounded him and it was like I was in a different world, a world of flashing colours. His purple flames whirled around me and they didn’t feel hot or cold, they felt like emotions. They smelt sweet, yet looked bitter, tasted like fresh water, yet it burned. Somehow I understood these flames. In these flames reality was separate, I felt alive in his flames, and they weren’t unnatural or strange. It seemed appropriate, like a disparity in space, it seemed out of place. I found myself welcoming the flames embrace and in barely anytime I was enjoying myself. I closed my eyes.

A Fairy Tale Prince- Chapter 11 (Start of section 2)

I had fallen asleep somewhere along the way, somewhere along the plane journey, and when I woke I was in a car. I heard the soft engine thrum. My head was leaning against a smooth and comfortable surface and I was startled when I discovered it was Ray’s shoulder. I jumped back in my seat reflexively as our eyes made contact. He smirked at me, his usual devilishly charming smile, mocking me, “It seems you have finally woken up.”

“Where are we?”

“We are in England.”

“England!” I said in awe. I stared through the car window and watched the countryside and trees flash past us. “It’s very…Green. I heard from Amanda that England was very advanced and had tall buildings and many roads.”

“You are thinking of London, the capital city, we are in the countryside…who is Amand—”

“You don’t need to know!”

“Okay, Okay I won’t ask.” I felt his piercing brown eyes roving over me, ” You know I find you more and more intriguing every second.—”

“Intriguing!!”

“Even in a situation so tense you can still sleep better than the dead. Plus you never react the way you should. Which I guess are good features to have. Perhaps they’ll help you survive.”

I felt my heart beat increase with the tension. I felt myself being sucked into the Ray’s fear mongering and mind games. I retorted, “Can you not be all doom and gloom! I won’t be scared by you.”

Ray snickered, childishly, “Again you surprise me. How can you talk to your kidnapper so rudely.”

“Nothing would change if I was meek or polite, would it? Also…You’re not the stereotypical scary kidnapper are you?” I stared at him intensely “Since the moment we met, since the time when you pointed your weapon at me, I never once felt that you had the intent to hurt me —”

“Oh is that so–”

“It is so! I do not know what your true intentions are, but I do know you want to make me your ally. I do not know what type of situation I have been pulled into, actually my entire life I have been confused about my situation and my circumstances” I grabbed Ray’s shoulders, “But…but…I believe that taking you as an ally would be the right call. You told me not to trust anyone. So before I lose the ability to trust, I hope… No I will trust you, I will trust that you will support me through this!”

Ray pushed my hands from his shoulders, “You are sadly mistaken, I have no power to support you where you’re going. —”

“But—”

“I gave you advice so that you can survive, and on the condition that you do survive then we will become allies. But it’s not like I really think you’ll make it. It’s something I say to every person I deliver. It makes them feel special, it’s funny.” he cackled “I’ve already been paid quite a bit by this Client to safely deliver a package, tampering with it would surely go against some rules–”

“Wha–”

“You are on your own.”

“You bastard!–”

“It’s not like I told you to get so attached to your kidnapper, I am not a source of hope for you.”

I hadn’t even realised the car had stopped, so I was taken by surprise when Ray put his hand over me opened the door and pushed me out of it. I went tumbling into the lush grass of a field next to the narrow road.

I heard the crackling of the radio, “This is Quillin.” Ray spoke, “I have delivered the package.” Then I saw Ray’s smiling face pop through the door like Charon the ferryman to hell, “Truly. I wish you the best of luck out there. From the bottom of my heart.” He laughed as he closed the car door on my face. The engine revving ‘vroom-vroom-vroom’ and then he was gone.

I watched as the black car dwindled in the distance becoming smaller and smaller on the country roads. I felt so very frustrated. I howled. ‘That bastard’ I thought, If I did survive I would make him pay, I vowed. I clenched my fists in rage, but before I could release more of my anger or confusion I felt hands around my waist. I was pinned to the ground, there was a pricking sensation, the type when a needle enters your skin. I heard the subtle hiss as something was injected into me. Again, it is annoying to say, but I lost consciousness.

When I next opened my eyes I saw tens of other eyes staring back at me, then I heard a voice say, “So this is the new Prince, huh. What’s your name?”

Here is the start to section 2 of the story, ‘Entering the camp.” Stay tuned!!! 🙂
